Cape May Vacation

August 12, 2017

Every year around August it's a tradition to visit New Jersey with my best friend Tiffany and her family for a week of vacation. We always end up staying in a rental in Wildwood but travel into Cape May due to the fact that Wildwood isn't as beautiful nor calm as we would hope for it to be. Pretty much Cape May > Wildwood (the beaches are nice though don't get me wrong)

Cape May is full of horse drawn carriages it's a amazing site to see but I really hope the horses aren't over worked. I had to resist the urge to kiss their little noses on many the occasion.

In 1878 a five-day-long fire destroyed 30 blocks of the town center and as part of the reconstruction efforts, replacement homes were almost uniformly of Victorian style. As a result of this and of more recent preservation efforts, Cape May is noted for its large number of well-maintained Victorian houses (thanks wiki!) A city of historic Victorian homes varying in color and shape is a absoulte dream to me. I felt a little weird taking photos of someone else's home but hey what can I say they are living works of art.

Tiffany and I had purchased tickets to go on a ghost tour and go into the Cape May Lighthouse at night..let me just say I wasn't prepared physically for the assault it took on my thighs walking up all the steps. The photo above is at the very top looking at the light (it's about the only good photo I could manage to get wish I could have captured more)

For reference this is what the Light house looks like during daylight hours

Sunset Beach with the wreckage of SS Atlantus pictured not to be confused with that actual ship that isn't sunk next to it! At one time there was a billboard painted on the side of the ship advertising boat insurance now thats ironic..
Small gift shop that sold crystals and tourist stuff for awesome prices near the beach. I got a hoodie for 10$ that's like unheard of price wise I scored big time!

Treat yo self got some yummy sushi (not all of it is pictured sadly) and fried matcha ice cream was surprised when they actually set it on fire. Also I ate all of the strawberries cause Tiffany sucks.

BEACH DAY got a sick burn and drank out of a coconut
I can't forget the ultimate breakfast I get every time I visit New Jersey. Stuffed french toast with a strawberry fruit topping, home fries, and sausage links sweet jesus is it good. Every year I tell myself to order something new and I fail each time. UNCLE BILLS PANCAKE HOUSE PLEASE OPEN A LOCATION IN MARYLAND I BEG YOU.

Zoo day! Lots to do and see for a free admission
He blep~

This boy stole the show
A few months prior I had visited the zoo with a male friend of mine who loves tigers and Rocky was doing just fine so coming back to this was very sad. Apparently he was struggling with cancer I hope you aren't in pain anymore Rocky you big bean toed cutie.

Found this treasure at a antique store in Cape May and had to add it to my collection I mean it's only from the 1800's no big deal right? I will maybe do a separate post on this scrapbook later and it's contents. Got a few other things while on vacation but nothing that compares to this at least.

Anyways we are finally at the end of my first ever blog post and I completely forgot to post a picture of just myself so you have a face to a name. I had a lot of fun with this and even if nobody takes the time to view these posts it'll be nice for me to look back on and smile. I really hope I can keep up with it even if I do struggle to make it all look as nice as possible. Thanks for viewing! See you next post
